New Features - Disable Notifications

Hi Eric,

A feature that I would be interested in is to be able to disable notifications going to providers/clients. We use the system internally and so do not want any of our providers/clients logging in (it would probably confuse them).

Thanks for posting here. This is a nice feature we can implement. Let's sum up current behavior and see what fits your business logic:

1) About clients
- You can record a client: long and short forms.
- If Password field is not empty, the system generates a password and set it to client
- Client can now login to customer's portal and pay, download invoices, see quotes and other stuff
- When you generate invoice, checking the 'send' button will email client with invoice pdf attached
- Client can get automatic reminders or recurring invoices

2) About providers
- You can record a provider: long and short forms.
- If Password field is not empty, the system generates a password and set it to provider
- When a purchase order is generated, provider can login to review it. Let's say prices changed and your purchase order does not reflect new prices, provider can update them and resend it back to you. You can approve or decline. Provider can add any additional fees.
- When you generate purchase order, checking the 'send' button will email provider with pdf attached.

So based on this logic, what steps do you want to remove ? This is for better understanding of what notifications we can keep.

The easiest may be to remove the password from the field as default, so it is always empty and therefore never sends the notification.

I would like to see a setting in the configuration/settings area to:

Default behaviour on new client client creation = {notify by email|do not notify}
Default behaviour on new provider creation = {notify by email|do not notify}
Default behaviour on purchase order change = {notify by email|do not notify}
Default behaviour on invoice change = {notify by email|do not notify}
