Opened status of invoice?

Does the "Opened" status of an invoice have any use?
Should it have that status when client has received the invoice email or what does it mean?

This is a status used on Mollie or Stripe payment gateway if I remember. This is to say invoice is not paid yet, so you can use Unpaid in m'Manager, instead of 'Opened'. I added these statuses so people are not confused and to manage status changes on online payment :-)
